I was out on my bike doing my best to keep fit when I spotted a plume of steam rising from a railway cutting. Quite a surprise to see this fantastic looking steam train, which turned out to be the Duke of Gloucester, magnificent sight! Fortunately I had my phone so took a couple of shots. If you’ve everr used an iPhone camera you’ll know that it just makes it’s own mind up what settings to use but takes reasonable pictures.
This locomotive, 71000 Duke of Gloucester, was actually rescued from a Welsh scrapyard in 1973. You can read all about its resurection and determined volunteers at the The 71000 (Duke of Gloucester) Steam Locomotive Trust Limited website
